Rain, Rain, Come and Stay

What would happened if it rained 24/7? I mean nothing but rainy day, after rainy day. It sounds like a pretty good Dr. Seuss idea, or maybe similar to the children’s book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Sure, rain everyday would not seem like the ideal weather for some, but maybe rain everyday would have a greater impact than one might think.

Hey, birds! Go back inside, it’s raining! Gosh!

Rain gives you the perfect excuse to stay inside all day and be lazy. No one wants to go outside when its raining, they rather sit home, do some work around the house and read a book that they never had the chance to read. See! Already one thing that has gotten done thanks to the benefit of rain. Now let’s think a little deeper into it. Since your home and snuggled up in your house, another benefit of this would be, no need to use your car. Since there is no need to use your car, you would save money on gas and going out and spending money!

Let’s go back to 1800’s, there has been many wars fought over land, power and greed. What would happen if, the day of the war there was a huge rainstorm. No one wants to go out in the middle of a huge rain storm to fight amongst each other, they would rather settle there conflict over a nice game of cards inside! Thanks to some rain, the whole history of America could have been rewritten, well kind of!

More sleep! √

Now back to the 2000’s, rain not only forces you to stay indoors, but it keeps you off the streets and out of trouble as well. Instead of being out on the street, you are pretty much forced to stay at home. While at home you also have to the chance to spend some time with your family. There are many people who don’t have the time to spend a few hours a day with their loved ones. This is why rain is there to help!

As you can see, rain is pretty awesome. There are many reasons why it should rain a lot more often. I am still a big fan of snow though. I would’ve made this idea up about snow, but snow is so darn annoying to clean up. Anyway, I am sorry if I offended any lovers of the beach with this idea, but a little rain can go a long way!

Social Media: The Good and Bad

index

Today I did this, tomorrow I will do that, and I can’t believe that actually happened to me. Sounds kind of familiar, right?

Some people are obsessed with social media and the need to update their life to an audience. There are all kinds of people who use social media. Family members, friends and even celebrities use it

I think it’s time to stop talking about what happened to you on a daily basis and time to go out and actually live life without a status update every hour.

There are many positives when it comes to social media. I think the biggest one is staying in touch with all of your close contacts. It’s a quick, easy way to say hi to someone who you want to talk to, but don’t really want to call up on the phone.

Also, it can be used to share pictures and memories that you can sit back and reminisce on some day. All of this I get, I understand. I think that it is great to keep in contact with someone who you really couldn’t see on a daily basics. I am not saying social media is a bad thing. I’m saying people need to stop spending every hour of the day using social media.

Hop on a social media site and there are posts about some of the most useless things ever. Some of these posts include people pretty much sharing their life to the world.

There are people who tell every little issue of their life, including what they should eat for dinner that night. I think that people like to use it for attention, they want it to seem that they are so important that even their littlest of decisions will impacts someones life reading it.

Social media pressures young teenage kids into following trends for all the wrong reasons.

Let’s take an example, your friend Lisa has a party with a few friends. The day after, she posts all of her pictures from the party on a social media site where the world can see. All of her pictures include her and her friends in revealing clothing, surrounded by under age drinking.

Everyone she knows comments on her pictures saying how much fun they had and how it was the greatest night ever. What kid doesn’t’ want the spotlight and attention? Teenage kids are promoting that these actions are acceptable and worst of all celebrities are doing the same exact thing, showing that it okay to do.

Is social media a good thing or a bad thing?

I would still say it was a good thing, but with some hesitation.

There is no point to update every hour what you are doing, or where you are going, it is just crazy! It’s fine to enjoy social media, but not don’t become consumed with it. Don’t go crazy posting random things just for attention.

The world is watching.

Why The Xbox 720 (One) And PS4 Are Set To Fail

Image

Rumors are coming out that may change the video game world forever. But not in a right way. Microsoft and Sony are both considering banning the use of used games.

I said it, no more used games.

As an everyday gamer, used games are what save us gamers from struggling to scrap out sixty dollars whenever we want a new game. Don’t even get me started on how ridiculous sixty dollars for a match is already.

Microsoft and Sony’s plan is to make as much money as possible; money is all it is ever about.

Most of Game Stop and Play N Trade’s business is from buying used games for cheap and over selling them, so without used game they would lose a lot of profit. Also, don’t forget about the consumer, the typical gamer will get poorer as well. So it’s a win for Sony and Microsoft and a loss everyone else.

I just don’t get it. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 already have over the top graphics and lightning fast performance right now. I don’t see how much they can improve on.

Let’s not even get started on how these game industries are making consumers obtain an “online pass” to play online. Gamers who want to play online, have to buy the online pass to play online; it’s crazy.

I hope that this is just a rumor and is not going to turn into reality. If so the world of gaming will never be the same. It would finally show that it is all about the money, not for the gamer.

E3 2012 is taking place in June. We will see if any new details emerge.

(2016 update: my prediction was right!)

Tebow Time

Image

(2016 update: Tim Tebow never got his chance at QB with the Jets; he is still the man).

It is Tebow time.

When the Jets were about to have an under the radar off-season for the first time in forever. They still somehow manage to land the biggest name in, well if not in football, but in all of the sports.

The Jets acquired Tim Tebow for a 4th and 6th round pick in the 2012 NFL draft. A low-risk move for a former playoff quarterback and a proven winner.

So what does this all mean, was it a good trade or was it a trade just to stir up some headlines.

Let’s look at it like this, as a Jets fan I am content with what Mark Sanchez has done, but am not satisfied. He has taken the Jets to two AFC title games but has lost them both. Outside fans and analysis all say that Sanchez is young, and Jet fans should be grateful for him to have taken them that far.

But what about Ben Rothlisberger for example, he won the Superbowl in his second year in the league. So there is no justice when someone says to be grateful for what Mark Sanchez has done.

Let’s talk about Tebow.

There is no denying that he is as genuine and as hard working as they come. I would have to imagine what coach would not want someone like that on their team.

What I don’t get is that people say, oh Tebow he’s a good man, but he doesn’t have the mechanics or the by the book type delivery to be successful. All that matters in the NFL are winning, it doesn’t matter how you do it, but as Herm Edwards said, “You play to win the game.”

Many argue that Tebow should just switch to a different position because he is obviously not able to be a quarterback. Tebow won both the National Championship and the Heisman as a quarterback; it is evident that the kid has some talent.

Was it all worth it?

I think it is a win, win for the Jets. If Mark Sanchez struggles for another year in a row then he deserves to get replaced, the NFL is a competition. If someone is incapable of leading your team to anything short of a Championship then they should be replaced, simple as that. Last time I checked, the Jets haven’t been in the Superbowl since 1969, the Joe Willy Namath days.

Will Tebow be starting at some point this season? Who knows? I think if Sanchez struggles, without a doubt No. 15 deserves to be under center. We will have wait and see and see how the Tebow story unfolds.

Hi!

Well this is my first post ever.

Pretty amazing stuff I know.

I am going to keep it short and simple. I have always had a passion for writing, so now here I am now. I’m an aspiring sports journalist (and writer). I also love music, video games and all of your typical things like that. So… hopefully I can make it big one day.

Check out my about the author for more!

Thanks (:
